Breaking Baz @ Cannes: First Look At Billy Zane Channeling Marlon Brando In 'Waltzing With Brando'
There’s no information about Zane at this stage, as the film’s logline remains under wraps though we know it’s a coming-of-age story centered on a visiting relative who is harboring a dark secret. Last month, we told you Final Destination star Bassinger had been tapped as the lead.
Zane’s recent roles include playing Marlon Brando is Waltzing with Brando, while his existentialist dark comedy INT.HALLWAY/NIGHT was acquired by Buffalo 8 during the Cannes Film Festival this year. He wrote and directed the pic. Further back, he starred in Titanic and had roles in Twin Peaks, Back to the Future, The Phantom and Sniper.
The Evilry comes from director Garcia’s Multi-Valence Productions banner along with Scott Huneryager and his ZaZa Rev Motion Pictures and Allegheny Image Factory. Producers are Anne Stimac, Joanna Quezada, David Bertolino, Fabian Alomar and Jason Baker of Callosum Studios, who will handle special effects. Baker’s company has worked on such horrors such as The Black Phone, Insidious: The Red Door and the upcoming Terrifier 3.
Principal photography is set to begin this month in Louisiana.
Zane is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency and Bloch Law.
