‘Black Mirror’ Season 7 cast includes Paul Giamatti, plus 6 returning stars for ‘USS Callister’ sequel
On September 19, Netflix announced the cast list for the upcoming seventh season of “Black Mirror.” The Emmy-winning anthology series last aired in June of 2023, but the new episodes are filming now and will return to the streamer sometime in 2025. Among the “Black Mirror” Season 7 cast members are two-time Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti (“Cinderella Man” and “The Holdovers”), recent Emmy winner Awkwafina (“Quiz Lady”), Emmy-nominated actors Emma Corrin (“The Crown”), Issa Rae (“Insecure”) and Harriet Walter (“Ted Lasso” and “Succession”), plus six returning stars for the highly anticipated “USS Callister” sequel.
That popular space-based episode from 2017 was nominated for seven Emmy Awards and won four: Best TV Movie, Best Writing (William Bridges and Charlie Brooker), Best Picture Editing and Best Sound Editing. While “USS Callister’s” nominated lead actor Jesse Plemons is not set to return as Robert Daly (boo!), these half-dozen cast members are on the call sheet: Milanka Brooks as Elena Tulaska, Osy Ikhile as Nate Packer, Billy Magnussen as Valdack, Cristin Milioti as Nanette Cole, Paul G. Raymond as Kabir Dudani and Jimmi Simpson as James Walton.

Additional info about other episodes and character bios are still under wraps. All we know at this point is that Season 7 will consist of six brand new episodes — that’s one more than Season 6 had last year, and three more than Season 5 had in June of 2019. The series executive producers are Brooker, Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones.

At the Emmy Awards, Netflix’s science-fiction dystopia program has managed an impressive eight wins so far out of 17 nominations overall. Most recently, it earned three additional bids at the 2024 Emmys for the sixth season: Best Writing for “Joan is Awful,” and both Best Picture Editing and Best Sound Mixing for “Beyond the Sea.”
