Blackpink conquered the world. Now Lisa, Rosé, Jennie, and Jisoo are seeking solo success.
Blackpink has been together since 2016, but now the K-pop girl group's four members are making names for themselves as solo artists. Which one will make the biggest splash?
Lisa is off to a blazing start. She has been recording solo since 2021, when she released the eponymous single album Lalisa. The visual for the title track from that album won her the fan-voted MTV Video Music Award for Best K-Pop in 2022. She won that category again in 2024 with "Rockstar." She just made her acting debut in Season 3 of The White Lotus. Her debut studio album, Alter Ego, drops on Friday. And this weekend she'll make her Academy Award ceremony debut, performing along with Doja Cat, Raye, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Queen Latifah.

Lisa's bandmate Rosé has also emerged as a solo pop star. Her debut studio album, Rosie, dropped on Dec. 6 and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, which made it the highest-charting album by a solo female K-pop artist (so far at least). Its lead single, "Apt," with Bruno Mars, has also ascended, reaching the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200. Rolling Stone critic Maura Johnston called Rosie "an appealing showcase of Rosé’s chameleonic personality and straightforwardly winsome vocals," while Clash Music's Robin Murray said that Rosé "cements herself as a global pop persona."
Jennie's next. Her debut solo studio album, Ruby, is out March 7. She has had strong singles success preceding that release, with "You and Me," "One of the Girls" (with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, her costars in the controversial 2023 HBO series The Idol), and "Mantra" making the top 10 on the Global 200. 2023's "One of the Girls" was the first single by a female K-pop soloist to be certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Jisoo rounds out the quartet, and she has had the quietest solo career thus far. Her 2023 debut solo single, "Flower," reached No. 2 on the Global 200, and she released her first EP, Amortage, digitally on Feb. 14. It topped the Korean charts but hasn't made a splash in the U.S. yet. Watch out for it on March 14 when physical copies go on sale to American fans.
Despite their solo ventures, Blackpink isn't done as a band just yet. They're coming together for a 2025 world tour, which they announced earlier this month. It will take them from South Korea to Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, and Tokyo starting on July 5 and wrapping up Jan. 18, 2026.
Going solo after group success is a time-honored tradition, but usually there's only room for one or two individual superstars from any given group, whether it's Michael Jackson from the Jackson 5, Beyoncé from Destiny's Child, or Justin Timberlake from 'NSync. And while multiple members of One Direction have notched their own solo hits, it's clear that Harry Styles is the standard bearer for that group, winning Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammys for his most recent release, Harry's House.
So which of Blackpink's members do you think is destined for iconic status on her own? Vote below.
