Boosie Badazz Says Jeezy Gave His Mom $20K While He Was In Prison

Boosie Badazz remembers a time when Jeezy offered support for his family in a time of need. In a clip from the Live Bitez social media platform, the Baton Rouge native spontaneously detailed a heartfelt moment from the past.

“Yeah! That’s my boy! He gave me $20,000 in jail… I’ll never forget it,” reflected the “Set It Off” rapper as Jeezy finished performing his verse on “Soul Survivor” during the taping of the GRAMMY Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop concert in Los Angeles last week.

He continued to elaborate, “He gave my mama $20,000 cash. Boy, that ni**a helped… I’m a Jeezy fan for life. I was in jail and he gave my mama $20,000. All blues! I’ll never forget!”

Boosie Badazz, legal name Torrence Hatch Jr., pleaded guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge in 2009 earning a sentence of at most two years, with the obligation to serve at least one, and a 2-5 year probation after being released. The sentence was later enhanced after he violated the post-plea terms.

In 2010, the “Wipe Me Down” performer was indicted on charges of first-degree murder, three counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and additional drug-related crimes. He was found not guilty on the murder charge, however, sentenced to eight years in 2011 for the drug charges. Boosie was ultimately released in 2014.

The aforementioned celebration of Jeezy is not the first time Boosie Badazz expressed gratitude for his “Better Believe It” collaborator. Back in 2014 during an interview with DJ Skee on Dash Radio, the Louisiana representative discussed how Jeezy remained loyal during his legal issues.

“Jeezy held me down the most,” shared Boosie Badazz per All Hip-Hop. “I used to holler at [Yo] Gotti, I’d holler at Webbie, but I had so much going on that the times I did holler, I’d holler. But I had to focus on my life and getting back to the free world.”
