BOX-OFFICE PREDICTIONS
Mickey 17 is projected to come out on top in its debut week, tracking north of $20 million at the weekend box office. The sci-fi flick from Warner Bros. stars Robert Pattinson as multiple versions of the same character, but more Pattinson won't necessarily translate into a Twilight-sized blockbuster. The Bong Joon Ho film cost $118 million to make, so it's going to need multiple lifelines to turn a profit.
Chasing Mickey in second place will be Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World. The superhero movie enters its fourth week in release with a domestic tally of $167 million. It's projected to add another $9 million this weekend. The real surprise may come from Angel Studios, with it's indie Rule Breakers set to debut in the top five with up to $4 million.
Here are Gold Derby's current box-office rankings for the top five:
1. Mickey 17
2. Captain America: Brave New World
3. Last Breath
4. Rule Breakers
5. The Monkey
