Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Blue Beetle) is set to pen the project, which will be executive-produced by The Boys showrunner Erik Kripke (via his Kripke Enterprises), mothership series EPs Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver (via their Point Grey Pictures) and Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty (Original Film). Additionally, deals are being worked out for Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal to serve as EPs through their La Corriente del Golfo production company.
The Boys is officially described as “a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought — the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super powerful.”
The popular Prime Video series recently launched its second spinoff, the supes college-set Gen V, which wrapped up its freshman season on Nov. 3. Prior to that, the Boys franchise initially expanded with the debut of the animated anthology offshoot The Boys Presents: Diabolical in March 2022.
The Boys fans, would you tune in (and turn on captions) for a Spanish-language spinoff?
