Brian Williams, Gangster Rapper? The Video Evidence Is Compelling

Sure, you know Brian Williams as the stolid anchor of the NBC Nightly News. But did you know he also moonlights as a hip-hop MC, spitting old-school rhymes from his anchor desk? It's true... at least if Jimmy Fallon is to be believed.

All week long on "Late Night," Fallon has been taking individual words from Williams' news broadcasts and splicing them together to match the lyrics to gangster rap classics.

First, the Snoop Dogg/Dr. Dre 1992 gem "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang," with Williams declaring that "Death Row is the label that pays me":

And then last night, Warren G and Nate Dogg's laid-back 1994 jam "Regulate":

Williams' smooth flow definitely got our heads nodding. And there are still plenty of hip-hop icons left for him to cover: Public Enemy, N.W.A., Ice Cube... if we're lucky, this gag could go on for months.

Of course, the perfect capper to this would be for Mr. Williams to stop by "Late Night" and do a live performance of one of these tracks. The sight of him actually rapping while wearing a throwback Bo Jackson L.A. Raiders jersey would probably make our heads explode. In the best possible way.
