Britney Spears Taps Secret Celebrity To Co-Narrate Her Memoir ‘The Woman In Me’
Pop star Britney Spears has reportedly asked a surprise celebrity guest to co-narrate her memoir, "The Woman In Me."
There are less than two weeks until her highly anticipated memoir hits shelves and fans are excited to hear the 41-year-old "Toxic" singer break her silence on her controversial 13-year conservatorship, her family, her love life, and her decades-long career in the entertainment industry.

Although many fans were hoping that the “Gimme More” singer would fully narrate her memoir so they could hear her story in her own words, it seems that some elements of her past were just too difficult for the pop star to relive. Instead, sources told TMZ on Thursday morning that certain parts of her memoir will be narrated by a surprise celebrity who won’t be revealed just yet.
An insider told the outlet that Britney has already recorded as much of the audiobook version of “The Woman In Me” as she wants to. It is unclear how many chapters of the book she recorded or if she only wanted to record specific sections in her voice. Sources told the outlet that she did not narrate any portions of her memoir that specifically involved members of her estranged family because she “found them too painful to retell in her own words,” as per the outlet.
It is unclear who recorded the rest of her memoir, although the publisher, Gallery Books, a subset of Simon & Schuster, was apparently pushing hard to get actress Reese Witherspoon to record the book. Unfortunately, she was not available to do it. The source said that only female celebrities were asked to narrate for Britney. Someone has been selected and the audiobook is ready to go on October 24.
Although fans have mixed feelings about someone reading someone else’s words, many are relieved that they will get an audiobook version of her memoir at all. Earlier this summer, sources indicated that the “Oops!... I Did It Again” singer was hesitant about releasing an audiobook version of “The Woman In Me” at all. Considering how profitable the presales of her memoir are, it’s not surprising that the publisher would push for an audiobook to be made, and it looks like Britney is satisfied with the compromise.
Britney Was Reportedly Paid $15 MILLION For Her Bombshell Memoir
The memoir was first announced in February 2022, with sources telling Page Six that the publishing giant Simon & Schuster managed to secure the rights to the book after an aggressive bidding war that featured multiple well-known publishing houses. One insider claimed that “the deal is one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas.”
In 2017, the rights for books created by Barack and Michelle Obama had reportedly surpassed $60 million, while Bill Clinton landed a $15 million dollar deal for his book “My Life” in 2001, which focused on the life of him and his famous family after he left the Oval Office. Britney’s memoir is also estimated to be worth $15 million.
This news came approximately one month after Britney’s younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, released her own tell-all memoir called “Things I Should Have Said” in January 2022. At the time, Britney took to social media to call out her sister and accuse the “Zoey 101” star of making up stories about her.
“Congrats best seller…..The nerve of you to sell a book now and talk s—t but your f—king lying…..I wish you would take a lie detector test so all these masses of people see you’re lying through your teeth about me !!!!” she wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “I wish the almighty, Lord would could come down and show this whole world that you’re lying and making money off of me !!!! You are scum, Jamie Lynn.”
Justin Timberlake Will Reportedly Not Be ‘Happy’ With Her New Memoir
Britney Spears dated Justin Timberlake from 1998 to 2002. He ended the relationship after four years due to allegations that the pop star had cheated on him, although that was never confirmed. It’s rumored that he wrote his hit song “Cry Me A River” about the end of the relationship, while Britney wrote “Sometimes” in response.
On Wednesday, a source told Us Weekly that Justin is “not going to be happy” with what Britney wrote in her upcoming memoir, adding that the pop star “goes after him hard.”
They said that Britney is “excited but nervous” about the release of her memoir while another insider shared that “It’s not Britney’s intention to skewer anyone,” adding, “She’s just going to relay the facts from her perspective.”
The insider also revealed that any mention of Britney’s ex, Sam Asghari, will be “heavily watered down” as the two finalize their divorce. The “Special Ops: Lioness” actor filed for divorce on August 16 after approximately fourteen months of marriage.
