Update: In June 2015, Caitlyn Jenner came out as a transgender woman. This content was written in April 2015 before Jenner publicly announced her full transition.
Though she stayed quiet for years after catching him wearing a dress around the house, Kim Kardashian West has been the “most accepting” of Bruce Jenner‘s transition, the Olympian says.
Kardashian West, 34, came around after husband Kanye West told her a story that she later repeated to her stepdad, he told Diane Sawyer during 20/20 on Friday.
“He says to Kim, ‘Look it, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful daughter in the world, and I have that,” Jenner, 65, said of the rapper. ” ‘But I’m nothing if I can’t be me. If I can’t be true to myself, it doesn’t mean anything.”
Now, Kardashian West is all about helping Jenner become a fashionista in his own right.
” ‘You’re representing the family,’ ” he said the designer told him, laughing. ” ‘You gotta look really good.’ ”
As for her sisters, Jenner said Kourtney Kardashian is most concerned with helping her three children understand their grandfather’s change, and Khloé Kardashian is struggling after losing her dad so young and watching her marriage to Lamar Odom fall apart.
“You would think out of all the kids, Khloé’s was the most fun, open-minded,” Jenner said. “And that’s not the case with Khloé. … She’s had the toughest time with it because she’s had a lot of losses in her life.”
Still, she’s been supportive of his option to undergo sexual reassignment surgery.
“If you’re identifying as female, as Khloé would say, you gotta have the vajayjay.”
