Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band soaked in new 'Waitin' on a Sunny Day' video: Watch

When it rains, sometimes all you can do is start “Waitin' on a Sunny Day.”

So it is in the new Team Springsteen video, "Soaked in Sunderland" by sister Pam Springsteen, posted Monday, July 1, on the Boss' social media. The vid details events of the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's May 22 show at the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, England.

It was a chilly and very rainy day.

“My peeps, yup!” says Springsteen in a car driving up to the venue.

The band is shown backstage rehearsing “Waitin' on a Sunny Day,” released on the 2002 album “The Rising,” before the show. The rain gets worse, with portions of the stage underwater, but the band goes on anyway.

“Here we go, we're in Sunderland. Remember the man who brought you here,” jokes Springsteen with the E Street Band. “It's raining now. Let's go out and have a great time!”

The rain didn't dampen the spirit of the band or crowd, who sang along when “Waitin' on a Sunny Day” was played that night.

The show may have contributed to Springsteen's recent vocal issues, which caused the postponement of four shows on the European tour.

“We came out last night, and I was like, 'What is this weather? Driving rain, wind roaring,’ " said Springsteen with a hoarse voice at the Ivor Novello Award for songwriting ceremony May 23 in London. “But standing in front of me, in the rain, I realized: These are my people.”

Springsteen and E Street resumed touring June 12 at the Cívitas Metropolitano in Madrid. Boss fan Steve Ehrlich of New York City has seen two shows since the return and reports that Springsteen's voice is good and the shows are “carnivals of pure energy and joy.”

Up next is Tuesday, July 2, at Werchter Park in Belgium.
