“For 17 years, at each Stand Up for Heroes, I’ve been impressed to see so many come together to honor the bravery and resilience of our veterans,” said Bob Woodruff, ABC Correspondent and co-founder of the Woodruff Foundation, in a statement. “Our 18th event will be another outstanding tribute to those who served, and a reminder to all of us of the debt we owe them and their families for their service and sacrifices.”

Springsteen usually sings a few songs and tells a few jokes, too.

“The first year (2007) we had no idea he was going to come out and tell jokes between songs and he’s quite good,” said Caroline Hirsch, founder of the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway, previously to the Asbury Park Press. “He really practices them, the delivery. He’s quite proud of it.”

Springsteen and Seinfeld both appeared on the series finale of Larry David "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on HBO in April.

Woodruff was wounded in Iraq while reporting on the war. The Woodruff Foundation forges partnerships and unites leaders in government, the military, business and philanthropy in support of veterans on the homefront. So far the group has raised more than $84 million.

Tickets for the Nov. 11 event, starting at $500, are on sale now via StandUpForHeroes.com.
