BTS's Jin Is Named Gucci's Newest Global Brand Ambassador

BTS member Jin is taking on a new role in the fashion industry as a Gucci ambassador.

On August 7, 2024, the Italian luxury fashion house, which is part of the Kering group, announced that the K-pop idol as its newest global brand ambassador. As part of his duties, Jin will be representing the brand at various events, campaigns, and more. To accompany the news, Gucci has already shared new photos of Jin modeling some of the brand’s pieces.

In a press release, Gucci’s current creative director Sabato De Sarno said, "I am very excited to welcome Jin as Global Brand Ambassador. His warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique. He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honored to share this journey with him.”

Similarly, Jin expressed his admiration for the brand. “Gucci is an iconic brand with a long-standing heritage and modernity. It is meaningful and thrilling to be a part of such a house,” he said.

Jin joins a number of famed Gucci ambassadors. Other stars currently representing Gucci include NewJeans’ Hanni, How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies star Billkin, and Indian actor Alia Bhatt.

This isn’t the first fashion ambassadorship role Jin has taken. Prior to his enlistment, Jin and the other BTS members collectively served as global brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton, which marked their first ever luxury fashion partnership. While Jin served in the military, the other members became ambassadors for other brands individually. J-Hope continued with Louis Vuitton, Suga joined Valentino as an ambassador, and Jimin became a face of Dior. Shortly after he completed his mandatory service in the South Korean army, Jin became an ambassador for Fred Jewelry, an LVMH brand.

Following the end of his conscription, Jin has taken on a few different solo endeavors, including serving as a torch-bearer at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. His portion of the relay was backdropped by the iconic Louvre museum.

As Jin embarks on this new endeavor, he'll surely be involved in many more events and projects to come.
