Bucks County's Sabrina Carpenter goes international with Olympics commercial in Paris

The girl is certainly meeting world. Bucks County's own Sabrina Carpenter has gone international, first as Taylor's Swift's opening act on legs of the Eras Tour in South America, Asia and Australia, and now in a TV commercial promoting the Olympic Games.

The NBC spot features the former star of Disney's "Girl Meets World" sipping coffee at a Parisian sidewalk café while enthusiastically chatting up an animated bird about the upcoming Games. Viewing Carpenter's bubbly conversation to "herself," the waitstaff, via subtitles, makes a thinly veiled reference to Carpenter's Top 10 megahit, surmising she has had enough "Espresso."

The 1-minute commercial is the latest national exposure in what has been a breakout year for the Quakertown native. After the Swift tour, Carpenter was featured at Coachella, was the musical guest on the season finale of "Saturday Night Live," announced a global arena tour and has had two top 10 hits, including her first No. 1 single.

The tour, launching in September and coming to Philadelphia Oct. 8, is in support of her upcoming sixth studio album, "Short n' Sweet," due to drop in August. Her latest single "Please Please Please," which last month reached No. 1, is No. 6 this week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, one spot behind her breakout "Espresso," which reached No. 3 earlier in June. Some music pundits tout "Please Please Please" as the signature song of summer '24.
