Can't be at Disney for the opening of Tiana's ride? You can listen to the music anywhere

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opened this morning at Walt Disney World, and for guests who can’t be in Florida for the attraction’s debut — there’s still a way to celebrate.

The ride's music soundtrack, also called “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” is now available on Walt Disney World Records across all streaming platforms. It features Grammy-award winners PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard.

The music, and new attraction, are based off the 2009 movie “The Princess and the Frog,” which took place in New Orleans. Helping to keep the songs authentic, the soundtrack was recorded in New Orleans and features some of the city’s most well-known artists.

Guests riding the new attraction also have a chance to hear the soundtrack while in the queue and on the ride.

What songs are featured on the new soundtrack Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?

Morton wrote produced and performed an original song for the ride “Special Spice.”

The new song also features vocals by Anika Noni Rose, the original voice of Princess Tiana and a Disney Legend. It’s about the princess getting ready to throw a big party, but there’s a mix-up and she needs a band.

Along with the help of some friends, Tiana discovers the “Special Spice,” which leads to a joyful celebration. The soundtrack also includes new renditions of familiar songs from “The Princess and the Frog.”

These are some of the artists featured on the new soundtrack Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

  • Anika Noni Rose — The beloved voice of Princess Tiana and Disney Legend returns to the role once again, singing vocals on “Special Spice”!

  • Jon Batiste, Jon Cleary and Trombone Shorty — The Grammy-award winning and multi-hyphenate musicians performed on songs throughout the attraction!

  • Tarriona “Tank” Ball – A New Orleans native and singer performed a new rendition of “Dig A Little Deeper” for the attraction.

  • Dirty Dozen Brass Band — The group played and sang the song “They All Asked for You,” a song familiar to many of the residents of New Orleans.

  • Preservation Hall Jazz Band — The group played with an all-star rhythm section assembled by Terence Blanchard, including Louisiana Fairytale, Tailgate Ramble and Bourbon Street Parade.

  • Leah Chase Kamata – The daughter of Dooky and Leah Chase, the NOLA staple and accomplished singer lent her voice for the queue song, “Do you Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans.”

  • Charlie Gabriel — An icon in the New Orleans music community, the 91-year-old musician sang lead vocal and played clarinet on “Tailgate Ramble.”

  • Terrance Simien – The two-time Grammy winner and phenomenal Zydeco artist performed the queue version of “Gonna Take You There.”

Will you get wet on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and does it have a drop?

Yes, be prepared to get wet on this ride. It was formally Splash Mountain (there are a few nods to the old ride) and was redone to represent Tiana.

It is still a flume ride with that famous drop, but the story is completely different. The ride picks up where the movie leaves off (spoiler alert) with Tiana achieving her dream of owning a restaurant.

She’s now giving back to the community and hosting a big Mardi Gras party.

The only trouble is she’s missing a key ingredient. Mama Odie shrinks guests down to the size of frogs to help look for it in the bayou. Along the way, they’ll see familiar characters voiced by the same actors from the film and meet new musical critters.

Can I meet Tiana at Walt Disney World?

Yes. Princess Tiana greets guests in her signature ball gown at Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom.

Guests can also meet her outside the parks with character dining at 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. She wears her new pantsuit there.

Is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure also at Disneyland?

The ride will open later this year at Disneyland.
