Carolina Indie Fest wraps up Saturday
May 13—Saturday is the last day of Carolina Indie Fest and the Strawberry Jammin' Festival.
"It's such a nice concept, with independent bands that are just playing because they love it," said Hugger Mugger co-owner Tim Emmert, "and all the passion that you expect from a band — they all bring it, and that energy is really awesome. It's amazing to walk around and for ten hours music is playing in the background. You're going to love it."
There will be a few vendors, and a kids area underneath the parking area in the alleyway beside Hugger Mugger.
Emmert said that this year's music festival has been very well publicized, and with it happening at the same time as The Strawberry Jammin that Hugger Mugger expects their biggest crowd to date, "We're very fortunate. We've had some really interesting conversations, and people in the community have been very supportive of what we're doing here, and we're thankful for them."
"We have two beers coming out for the weekend," said David McComas, co-owner and brewmaster, "Whoa Blackberry Bram-ba-lam, it's a blackberry Kolsch, and for the Strawberry Festival we're doing Buried Alive, and oh, it's so good. People definitely need to try that."
"David is an amazing brewer, " added Emmert, "I love his beer more than any other — and people seem to feel the same way, and it's really exciting to have him doing this in Sanford and having Sanford be very receptive to his beers."
The music begins in the parking lot behind Hugger Mugger at 3 p.m. and while you're around don't forget to take advantage of all the activities happening downtown for the final day of Strawberry Jammin'.
