Cate Blanchett Favors Double Denim in Blue Velvet Brandon Maxwell Suit on ‘Good Morning America,’ Talks ‘Borderlands’ and Giving Costar Jamie Lee Curtis a Facial
Fall has arrived early for Cate Blanchett, who wore a blue velvet suit while appearing on “Good Morning America” on Monday.
Blanchett paired a denim print Brandon Maxwell tailored jacket with matching straight-leg trousers made from the cozy textile. Both items came from the designer’s resort 2025 collection. The actress’ brown leather belt, also by Maxwell, featured a statement heart-shaped buckle. A pair of oversize aviator frames and burgundy crocodile pumps completed Blanchett’s look.

The “Tár” star wore her blond tresses in a long bob, while her makeup included mauve blush and a matching satin lip.
Stylist Elizabeth Stewart, who also counts A-listers like Jessica Chastain and Julia Roberts as clients, dressed Blanchett for the occasion.
Speaking to hosts Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, Blanchett explained how “Borderlands” differs from her past roles.
“When Gearbox said they were making this I thought, ‘I haven’t done that before,'” she said. “I didn’t know the game at all, so it was a deep dive for me.”

Based on the popular video game series, “Borderlands” is set on the fictional planet of Pandora. Eli Roth, known for his work on “Hostel” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Grindhouse,” directs the big screen adaptation.
Blanchett’s “Borderlands” costar Jamie Lee Curtis also posed a question during her “GMA” interview.
“What did you give me that you have never given anyone else, I hope, in Budapest in your hotel room that involves beauty products?” she asked.
“That secret has to stay between us, Jamie Lee,” Blanchett replied in jest. “No, I gave her a facial. That’s all it was.”
