Cate Blanchett Goes Strapless in Armani Privé and Suits Up in Moschino Polka Dots at 2024 Venice Film Festival

Cate Blanchett has made the red carpets of the Venice Film Festival her own personal runway during the 2024 showcase for the film industry. The two-time Oscar-winning actress wore designer looks for various events during the festival, which concludes on Sept. 7.

On the official second day of the film festival, Blanchett wore a Moschino suit from the Italian luxury fashion house’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection during a photo call for the series “Disclaimer,” in which she stars. The suit, which made its runway debut during Milan Fashion Week last February, featured a matching set, including a double-breasted blazer and trousers.

Both the trousers and blazer featured a black base with large white polka dots on the fabric. The polka dot motif is one of the “familiar witticisms from founder Franco Moschino” that was featured in the fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection, as described by WWD’s Miles Socha.

Blanchett paired the suit with pointed toe black heels and a white button-down shirt with a sharp collar.

For the first major red carpet of the 2024 Venice Film Festival — the premiere of Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” — Blanchett wore a strapless gown courtesy of Armani Privé. The formfitting champagne dress featured a tiered design, with micro pearls lining each horizontal line of the dress.

Blanchett wore a dazzling Louis Vuitton necklace featuring pearls and diamonds that framed the actress’ shoulders. Blanchett has been a global ambassador for Louis Vuitton since June 2022, specifically for the brand’s high jewelry pieces.
