CavernFest returns to downtown Carlsbad June 7 and June 8
Carlsbad’s annual downtown music and street festival returns for another year June 7 and June 8 with plenty to do for everyone.
CavernFest was first organized in June 2016 by Carlsbad MainStreet and has attracted vendors, food trucks, attractions and big name entertainment since its inception, according to the CavernFest website.
Big name acts have included country groups Shenandoah, Little Texas and Bri Bagwell. This year's festival lineup includes a headliner, dozens of food vendors and family friendly activities.
Who is performing this year?
At 5 p.m. June 7, 7EVRN will take the stage followed by Art Vandelay and The Shrinkage, S.H.L.I.O and Jesse Dayton is the headliner.
Dayton’s website describes him as an unsung hero of modern-day American music.

“His innovative style has not only earned him acclaim, but also paved the way for collaborations with legends like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson,” according to the website.
At 10 a.m. June 8, DJ Jose Ornelas starts the entertainment until 2:15 p.m. when the Cody Zane Wells Band, takes the stage followed by Holly Moon, Home Grown Boyz, the Jack Nelson Band and Meghan Patrick.
At 9 p.m. June 8, the Josh Abbott Band takes center stage as the headline act for the night.
Other offerings at CavernFest
Along with the music there will be a food truck alley, yoga, volleyball tournament, foam party, blood drive, Top Nock Archery, video games and a sparring demonstration.
Vendors will be in attendance selling various items and wares.
The City of Carlsbad is offering free rides during CavernFest from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.
