CBS renews 'Big Brother' for two more seasons
CBS has renewed Big Brother for two more seasons, ensuring that the show will be on through the summer of 2016.
The show’s current season has grown both in viewers and in the 18-49 demographic, averaging 7.56 million and a 2.7.
“Big Brother continues to be the one of the summer’s most dominant programs, and with each season, Allison [Grodner] and Rich [Meehan] produce the most twisted ways to evolve the series creatively,” said Chris Castallo, CBS executive vice president of alternative programming. “With its one-of-a-kind format, coupled with its passionate, socially engaged fan base, no other show comes close to duplicating it.”
Companion series Big Brother After Dark, which will air on TVGN’s rebranded network Pop, has also been renewed.
Big Brother’s 16th season will close Wednesday night in a special 90-minute finale starting at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
