'Celebrating life': Paris Jackson shakes the blues away — with cousins — after Joe Jackson's death
It’s been quite a week for Paris Jackson, who was by her grandfather Joe Jackson’s side as he succumbed to pancreatic cancer, so she rightfully spent Thursday shaking it off a bit.
The model, 20, shared video of herself dancing around in a kimono to Sly and the Family Stone’s “Stand” while hanging with a group of her people, including cousins Austin and Yashi Brown, the children of Rebbie Jackson, as well as musician Brian London. No surprise, the King of Pop’s daughter has got moves.
“Celebrating life with @BrianLondon, @AustinBrown,” she wrote on the video, adding, “Peep @YashiBrown in the back.”
More important than how good her dance moves are, though, is that she’s letting loose and having fun after an emotional week. On Wednesday, she posted an emotional tribute to her father’s father, with whom Michael had a complicated history. Despite that, Paris had nothing but “love, respect, and so much pride” in her heart for the man who created the Jackson “dynasty” — or, as she called him, “the legend that started it all.” Paris shared a photo in which she was holding his hand in his hospital bed. “Being able to hold your hand, lay with you and cuddle you, give you kisses all over your cheeks and forehead, meant more to me than you’ll ever know,” wrote Paris, who lost her own father almost exactly nine years ago.
Paris has spent time bonding with her family since. Here she is with Yashi (as well as London) soon after Joe’s death.
Beyond that, she’s been reflecting on life and death…
…and attempted to clear out negative energies by doing a new-moon smudge.
There will be more family time ahead for Paris as the family pays its final respects to Joe. No official funeral plans have been shared, nor has his daughter Janet commented. Hopefully she’s somewhere shaking it off too.
