Celebrities Wearing Crocs: Justin Bieber, Prince George More Photos

People love to hate on Crocs. When the whacky shoes first launched more than 20 years ago, they were aimed at boaters, then gardeners, service-workers, nurses, children, old people. Now, the clog has become one of fashion’s greatest canvases for coolness, creativity and self-expression. Crocs have found fans in a range of consumers, including fashion’s cool crowd, Gen Zers and celebrities of all ages.

Key partnerships from Justin Bieber and Bad Bunny to Jeff Staple and, designer Christian Cowan, have proven that Crocs is not confined to just one specific demographic.

“Crocs is absolutely a fashion shoe,” Cowan told FN. “It’s often a really confident, quirky person who’s unafraid to play with fashion who’s wearing them.”

Crocs ambassadors have included Drew Barrymore, Priyanka Chopra, John Cena, Jonathan Van Ness, Bretman Rock and many more.

Rock said, “My favorite styles are the Classic Clogs, but recently I’ve been wearing more of the platform Crocs more than ever because I’m a short little girl and I love a little height. The platform Crocs make me feel like a bad bitch. I think everyone can agree that Crocs takes us back into our childhood, where we didn’t really care what was on our feet, running around and being free.”

“SNL” star Chloe Fineman is also a fan of the shoe, telling FN: “I feel like Crocs are the new Uggs. And now with something like a platform, it’s very fashion forward and they’re extremely comfortable.”

“I love to add a little height with anything I do, especially in my shoes, so the Mega Crush clog was the perfect shoe to work with for the collection,” Lil Nas X exclusively tells FN. “We played around with a lot of different colors and textures, but the brown sherpa fur is definitely my favorite and is perfect for winter. I like that we pushed the boundaries a little bit with this — it’s something different than the classic Croc.”

This marks the debut of the first-ever partnership between the two brands. The collab consists of three styles, which Cowan re-imagined.

“I wanted to have the variation because they all have different kind of uses in your day-to-day life,” he told FN backstage at the show. “And then I wanted to bring our brand identity to the Crocs brand identity. I’m known for glitz and glam, checkerboard, and pink and bows. So it’s just quintessentially us all in one. And it’s just about bringing glamour, which makes so much sense to do it with Crocs because Crocs experiments so much. That’s my favorite thing with fashion — it’s to experiment.”

“Crocs belongs in fashion,” said current collaborator and designer Salehe Bembury. “The consumer has never been more open to new ideas, new products and new brands. We grew up at a time where shoes had to have a specific logo on them to be co-signed. Now people just want cool shit. I was just at Paris Fashion Week in June, and 95% of the models at the Louis Vuitton show were wearing the label’s own foam clog. That was extremely educational to me because that told me it’s no longer a trend; it’s a product category. This showed me the path this category of footwear has.”

CEO Andrew Rees said, “Making the strategic decision to double down on the Classic Clog was an important moment for us. The Classic Clog is incredibly polarizing, yes, but it also represents a celebration of individuality — something we stand for as a brand and a theme we inspire our consumers and customers to embrace. The clarity of that vision, and our commitment to the Classic Clog, will unlock the full potential of the Crocs brand.”
