‘The Challenge All Stars: Rivals’: Devin says he ‘would beat Dario down’ in a fight
Welcome to Reality Derby, our weekly deep dive into all things reality TV, hosted by Gold Derby senior editors Marcus James Dixon and Denton Davidson.
Joining us this week is Devin Walker, one of the eliminated Challengers from Wednesday night's The Challenge All Stars: Rivals on MTV. (Our interview begins at the 8:57 mark in the video above.) Devin tells us about teaming up with Leroy Garrett, his altercation with Dario Medrano, and the rest of this "snorefest cast."

"I've never seen anyone pull off four in a row," Devin says of Adam Larson and Steve Meinke, the All Stars duo that has won every elimination so far this season. "If you're going to lose to somebody, I guess a team that's literally breaking elimination records isn't that bad. It's a bummer to leave, but I'm happy for those guys."
Devin explains that he and Leroy were on the outs because his partner had a poor social game and Devin "couldn't stand anybody." He recounts, "They were an absolute snore-fest cast that I loathed. I drank as many Carlsbergs as they would allow me to, took a skinny dip, and brought myself to bed."
Despite their clash in Double Agents, Devin admits Leroy wasn't much of a "rival" and he was thrilled to be paired up with him. He calls his partner "the true definition of a Challenge all star" despite the fact Leroy has never won. "To be with a true, deserving, bonafide all star, I was really happy," he says. "I can't help but feel like I fumbled the bag a little bit. It's a tough pill to swallow because you look at a setup like that and you think, 'This has got final written all over it.'"
Devin and Leroy were thrown into elimination by the Daily Challenge winners, Frank Fox and Sam McGinn — and Devin says Frank was truly to blame for that decision. "I was good with Sam," he states. "Frank, from the beginning, made her feel so small that she didn't think she had a voice. Because she felt like she had let him down in a few of the earlier challenges, she catered to whatever he wanted. She didn't want to be 'holding him back' physically and politically. I think it came from a place of not wanting to let Frank down. I truly believe she was manipulated from the jump. It manifested itself in turning on one of the only people that was genuinely a supporter of her — not just in the game, but in reality. I thought she was a really good person. Unfortunately, that isn't the case."

Tensions reached an all-time high when it was discovered that Dario, one of Leroy's best friends, supported a plan to send Devin and Leroy into elimination. When Devin confronted Dario, he was threatened with violence as Dario barked, "I will break your jaw." Devin wasn't phased, and remarks, "He has the I.Q. of a peanut, so he doesn't know how to articulate his smelly-breath thoughts. I would also be mad if I got caught and I had terrible breath, so I don't blame him, but I didn't like him being that close to my face."
Devin admits he never feared for his safety, stating, "I would dog Dario in a fight. I'm not worried because we're on TV and there's security all over the place — and I would beat Dario down. I would beat the living s--- out of Dario's mouth. I'm not concerned about him whatsoever."
Leroy didn't hold a grudge against Dario and quickly moved on from the situation, but Devin was "so offended on Leroy's behalf." He recounts, "I was shocked that he cared so little about this," before revealing that Leroy even protected Dario's game in unseen footage. "We had the numbers to switch the vote," Devin claims. "[There were] five teams that could have all voted for Dario and Ashley, and Leroy said, 'Don't do it.' He said, 'That's still my friend. I'm not going to do to him what he is willing to do to me.' We had the numbers, he cancelled it."
