The Challengers
Following last week’s challenge, Adam and Steve, Leroy and Devin, Dario and Ashley, and Turbo and Nany claimed the stars — and a ticket to TJ’s final. Now they’ll just have to hang onto them the entire season. That will be no easy feat as nine other pairs target them, fighting for their chance to claim the $300,000 prize.
After a night of beer pong and socializing, the Challengers wake up in anticipation of how the next day will unfold. They still don’t know all the rules to the game this season, which makes it difficult for anyone to strategize. All they know so far is that you need stars to reach the final and they’re partnered up with their worst enemy.
When they arrive at the Daily Challenge TJ explains the rules. Whichever team wins the Daily Challenge is the only pair safe from elimination. If they happen to have a star, they’ll be the only safe star as well. The rest of the teams must go back to the house and nominate one Rival pair for elimination. The Daily Challenge winners will then select one other team to face off against the house vote. Challengers who don’t have a star have the option to nominate themselves into elimination in order to claim one. They’ll do that by defeating a star-holding team or stealing one from anybody else who didn’t win the Daily Challenge.
The Daily Challenge
In “Edge of Glory,” pairs must solve a math equation before approaching a plank at the edge of a 55-story building. They’ll then have to lean over the ledge to retrieve four flags as fast as possible — all while their partner holds them with a thin rope. They have 10 minutes to complete the task — and if one player falls, their rival is going down with them. Whoever completes the task the fastest will win today’s challenge.
While the first couple Rivals head out to the plank, Beth begins crying as she looks on. She’s terrified of heights and is prepared to derail her and Jonna’s game because of it. Meanwhile, Aneesa is out on the plank and refuses to even try — believing her and Ashley M. are in a good spot socially. A frustrated TJ blows the horn and sends them back to solid ground. More pairs head to the plank and more players show frustration with their partners. KellyAnne is furious that Sylvia won’t even try and they get into an argument right on the rooftop. TJ is disgusted and calls this the season of “Fall-Stars” as he watches teams continue to fail or give up. Then, with three teams left to compete, there’s a torrential downpour and the Daily Challenge has to be canceled. TJ gives the three remaining teams the option to compete the next day or concede. Leroy and Devin, Nany and Turbo, and Melissa and Nicole all decide to withdraw and let Amber and Faysal take the win.
Below are the results:
1. Amber & Faysal — 4 flags in 1:50
2. Adam & Steve — 4 flags in 6:32
3. Da’Vonne & Shane — 1 flag in 7:27
Aneesa & Ashley M. — DQ
Beth & Jonna — DQ
KellyAnne & Sylvia — DQ
Frank & Sam — DQ
Katie & Veronica — DQ
Ashley K. & Dario — DQ
Big T & Corey — DQ
Leroy & Devin — DNC
Nany & Turbo — DNC
Melissa & Nicole — DNC
The Elimination Arena/The Jungle
The house decided to vote for the biggest perceived threat: Adam and Steve. At the elimination, Amber & Faysal shocked everyone by throwing in Beth and Jonna. In “Pole Position,” pairs will have to insert poles into tubes, making it more and more difficult to maneuver through each round. After five rounds, whoever manages to get through their tube the fastest with all the poles in place will win tonight’s elimination.
The Big Winners
Adam and Steve prevailed in tonight’s elimination arena and held onto their stars. Other star holders are Leroy and Devin, Dario and Ashley, and Turbo and Nany. Amber and Faysal still don’t have a star, but they managed to win today’s Daily Challenge and throw in a pair of losers — so they escape the week with no blood on their hands.
The Big Losers
Beth and Jonna didn’t have what it takes to win in the jungle and became the first pair eliminated from this season of All Stars.
Next Week
The intensity and drama reaches new heights as infighting breaks out between pairs. KellyAnne and Sylvia already hate each other and there’s trouble brewing between Aneesa and Ashley M. Meanwhile, Frank is ready to become the season villain we’ve been waiting for.
