When is the Challengers Prime Video release date?
The Challengers Prime Video release date has been set for September 19, 2024. The film is available to rent and purchase now, but will hit Amazon’s streaming service in just over a week.
Alongside Zendaya, Challengers also stars Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. The film follows the story of the two male tennis players, who compete both on the court as well as off of it, for the admiration and love of Zendaya’s Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy.
Challengers was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay written by Justin Kuritzkes. It was executive produced by Bernard Bellew, with Guadagnino and Amy Pascal serving as producers. The film originally premiered earlier this year and drew positive reviews, while also grossing just over $94 million at the global box office.
“Zendaya’s Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court,” reads the synopsis. “Married to a champion on a losing streak, Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, and tensions run high, Tashi must ask herself, what will it cost to win.”
