Chanel Designer Karl Lagerfeld Dead at 85
Legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld, the creative force behind such brands as Chanel and Fendi, has died at the age of 85-years-old.
The German designer, known for his trademark gloves, passed away in Paris, as was announced Tuesday by his company.
Fellow fashion icon Donatella Versace also paid tribute to Lagerfeld, writing, “Karl your genius touched the lives of so many, especially Gianni and I. We will never forget your incredible talent and endless inspiration.”
Over the years, Lagerfeld was praised by many celebrities for his style, and was regularly seen with J.Lo, Rihanna, Claudia Schiffer and Kim Kardashian.
It’s unclear exactly how Lagerfeld died, but he was reportedly unwell for several weeks and had missed attending a number of fashion shows, including NYFW.
