Chanel N°5 Has A New Face: Margot Robbie
Chanel, the celebrated French fashion and beauty maison, has announced that Oscar-nominated actress Margot Robbie will become the new face of the brand's iconic N°5 perfume. A truly iconic role.
This, of course, isn't Robbie's first time working with the fashion house. The Barbie star has been a brand ambassador since 2018, regularly wearing Chanel on red carpets around the world, as well as being the face of Chanel Gabrielle Essence and the Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche lipstick line.
"I think Chanel N°5 is one of the most iconic fragrances in the world," said Robbie in a press statement. "It’s incredible to be a part of it. There's such an impressive lineage of women who've been associated with the fragrance over the years. I am very honored to be joining that long list of incredible talents." That list includes Marilyn Monroe, Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman, Gisele Bündchen and, most recently, Marion Cotillard.
Robbie's new N°5 campaign will be unveiled in full come October 2024, so thankfully it won't be a long wait.
Despite the new face, the fragrance will remain the same. Originally created by Ernest Beaux in 1921, it was launched in three concentrations: Parfum, Eau de Toilette and Eau de Cologne. The top notes are bergamot, lemon, neroli and ylang-ylang, while at the heart sits jasmine, rose, lily of the valley and iris. The long-lasting base notes are vetiver, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and patchouli. It remains arguably one of the most recognizable scents (and bottles) in the world.
Chanel's N°5 fragrance retails for $138 USD and is available at the brand's website, as well as select retailers like Sephora and Ulta worldwide.
