Charli XCX Celebrates Sold Out UK Tour With 2008 Throwback: ‘Good Things Take Time’
Charli XCX has waited a long time to finally bask in her Brat summer, something the singer acknowledged on Friday as she shared a very 2000s-coded throwback of herself while celebrating her sold out U.K. arena show dates.
“Sold out uk arena tour in 2024 vs 2 tutus and a wig balancing on a chair playing to no one in 2008,” Charli posted on Instagram Friday. “Good things take time but love that i can say i’ve done both ?? sooooo excited for these brat shows in the uk <3.”

Charli’s enjoyed a steady career as a genre-pushing pop act for over a decade, but she’s never seen a moment like she’s had with Brat over the past several months. The record became a heavy album of the year contender, while its slime green aesthetic became the color of the summer.
After Vice President Kamala Harris launched her 2024 presidential campaign, Charli tweeted “Kamala Harris is BRAT,” and the viral moment spawned thousands of memes for the Democratic presidential nominee. “I’m happy to help to prevent democracy from failing forever,” she told New York magazine of the unexpected fervor that started with the tweet.
Next month, Charli is releasing a remixed version of the album — Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat — on Oct. 11 featuring Billie Eilish, Troye Sivan, and Lorde.
Aside from the sold out U.K. dates, Charli started her Sweat Tour with co-headliner Sivan this past week, playing arena dates in Detroit, Quebec, and Toronto. She is set to perform in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, and the tour will have them playing across he U.S. through October.
