Charli XCX Goes Backless in Black Saint Laurent Dress at 2024 WSJ Innovator Awards
Nothing’s more “Brat” than a backless dress, just take it from Charli XCX. The singer attended the 2024 WSJ Innovator Awards in New York on Tuesday night, where she modeled a long-sleeved Saint Laurent design.
Charli paired her wool frock with the French label’s L’Entracte slingback pumps in black satin crepe. She completed her look with jewelry from Dyne by Sarah Ysabel Narici.

Stylist Chris Horan, who also counts Christina Aguilera and Hari Nef as clients, dressed Charli for the occasion.
The “360” artist wore her dark tresses in a middle part, while her makeup consisted of black eyeliner, rosy blush and a red lip.
At the WSJ Innovator Awards, Charli was recognized for her latest album “Brat,” and was introduced by her friend, model Emily Ratajkowski. Other honorees included Salma Hayek and Marc Jacobs, who were acknowledged for their work in the philanthropy and fashion fields, respectively.
Charli recently sported a full Saint Laurent look on her Sweat Tour, which she co-headlined with Troye Sivan. The former wore a sheer tube dress from the label’s fall 2024 collection, coordinating with Lorde, who joined her on stage for a rendition of their “Girl, So Confusing” remix.
Speaking to WWD in February, Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello was inspired by fragility for his fall 2024 collection, which featured several looks that evoked silk stockings.
“Don’t ask me about how we might produce it,” he said. “I think my job is to propose something different that is not necessarily realistic or necessary.”
