Charlie Wilson, Morris Day to play Southern Heritage Classic concert

R&B stars Charlie Wilson and Morris Day have been added to the entertainment lineup for the annual Southern Heritage Classic celebrations.

Wilson and Day will perform as part of the festivities leading up to the 34th edition of the Southern Heritage Classic football game between University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Tennessee State University on Sept. 9 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.

Gap Band founder Wilson and Day and his group, The Time, will headline the Friday Classic Concert at the Landers Center on Sept. 8. The show will be hosted by comedian Jammin Jay Lamont. Tickets for the show are $75, $90, $115 and $135. They go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at the Landers Center box office and Ticketmaster.

The Wilson/Day show will follow a previously announced concert by Grammy-winning R&B singer, Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer and soul music legend Gladys Knight, who will headline the annual Southern Heritage Classic Concert at the Orpheum on Sept. 7.
