Chelsea Handler says Andrew Cuomo ghosted her after agreeing to go out on a date
Chelsea Handler has long made it clear that she’s a huge fan of Andrew Cuomo. In fact, she’s saucily asked him to “govern me” and, in her latest comedy special, explained her “deep sexual feelings” for the New York governor.
“The thing is, I like older men, which brings me to the strong and deep sexual feelings that I have developed for Andrew Cuomo,” Handler said in Evolution, which is now streaming on HBO Max. “I want him to flatten my curve, then I want to flatten his curve. And then I want us to apex together.”
When Handler appeared on The View Wednesday, she explained that there’d been a development on that front.
“I do want you to follow up on something for me, ladies, if you don’t mind,” Handler told the hosts. “I did have a conversation with Cuomo a few months ago, and I did ask him out on a date. And he did say yes. And then I never heard from him.”
On Thursday, Cuomo himself responded to Handler’s latest comments during his own appearance on The View. “I’m a big fan of Chelsea’s, and she is great. And we have fun,” Cuomo said. “But in my dating life, you know, I am only dating — at this point — in-state residents, right? I’m dating New York residents and so, if Chelsea changes her residence, then maybe we can work it out.”
While Handler was on the talk show, she also spoke about her most famous ex, 50 Cent, who earlier this week appeared to be supporting President Trump in the upcoming election. Handler, who dated the rapper in 2011, exchanged messages with him on the issue over Twitter, urging him to support Trump’s opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden.
“Hey f***er! I will pay your taxes in exchange for you coming to your senses. Happily!” she wrote in response to his concerns about taxes being raised in high income brackets like his own. “Black lives matter. That’s you, f***er! Remember?”
Handler said Wednesday that she and 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, have since had a half-hour phone conversation on the issue and that he’s not supporting Trump.
“He wasn’t serious. He was just screwing around on his Twitter,” Handler said. “He is supporting Joe Biden. He made that very clear to me."
And about that offer to pay his taxes...
“I did promise to pay his taxes and then I found out it’s illegal to pay somebody to vote for your candidate. So I offered him another form of payment and we'll see if he takes me up on it,” Handler joked. “But I don’t have to pay him. He’s already a Biden supporter.”
Cuomo is, of course, also supporting his fellow Democrat.
