Chicago Med Season 10 is here, and the ED at Gaffney Medical Center is shaping up to be a new and different place. Dominic Rains’ Crockett Marcel has exited the show and two new doctors are joining the show for Season 10. One of those is set to make an immediate impact and clash with Dr. Archer while at it. But who is Sarah Ramos’ Caitlin Lennox and what role will she play on Chicago Med?

Who is Dr Caitlin Lennox on Chicago Med?
The little we know about Dr. Lennox indicates she is an “ED Attending poised to get Gaffney Medical into shape” according to Deadline. And let’s not mince words, the ED could use some help. And Dr. Archer could certainly use someone who stands up to him. And that is exactly what Lennox will do. Even in the first footage we saw of the season, in the trailer, we caught her pushing back, hard.
In that footage, right after a voiceover from Goodwin tells us that the hospital needs to rethink how the ED operates, Archer takes issue with Lennox and asks her “How old are you?”

She doesn’t miss a beat and quips back “How old are you?” And if that isn’t the perfect response to someone like Archer, we don’t know what is. We are already looking forward to the two bumping heads in the ED all season. And all things considered, that’s a better storyline for Archer than any possible romantic one with Hannah Asher, who seems to be focused on Dr. Ripley, for better or worse, and the continued storyline with his son that feels like it’s run its course at this point.
Lennox is “not interested in making friends,” new showrunner Allen MacDonald told TV Insider. “She’s interested in being efficient.” We know that on Chicago Med, things always end up being personal so that probably won’t last. But it’s an interesting dynamic from the get-go, particularly when juxtaposed with Archer. “Rule-pushing Archer is not pleased,” the showrunner also teased to TV Insider.
Maggie is probably going to be laughing in a corner every time these two even come close to each other. And so will we!

Dr. Lennox’s aversion to making friends will surely thaw as the season progresses, and we hope the show allows her to bond with the women on the team. It’ll be funny if they all get to gripe about Archer together. But also, women tend to gravitate to other women, and the Chicago shows haven’t always been the best at showcasing the depth of female friendships, so this is another opportunity to do just that.
Whatever Dr. Lennox ends up being, she brings much-needed change to the ED at Gaffney Medical Center. Chicago Med was starting to feel stale. Not anymore.
Chicago Med airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. It is available to stream on Peacock.
