Childish Gambino Releases Final Album ‘Bando Stone & The New World’: Stream It Now

It’s the final act for Childish Gambino. The 40-year-old’s last album Bando Stone & The New World has arrived and the 17-track LP landed on streaming services on Friday (July 19).

Gambino didn’t hold back with his final effort, which embraces his influences for a genre-blending melting pot with something for every type of CG fan.

There are some special guests peppered throughout the LP with assists from Jorja Smith, Yeat, Flo Milli, Steve Lacy, Foushee, Amaarae and more.

Earlier this week, the “3005” rapper joined Hot Ones where he explained why it was time to retire the moniker.

“I always knew Childish Gambino was like a character, and on some level I wanted it to end,” he said. “I almost feel like Childish Gambino is like the boss from The Office, like, ‘That stuff worked 10 years ago.’ All that stuff worked, but now it’s like a different thing. It’s like, ‘Oh it’s a little sad, but its like, wow, the cycle kinda continues, which is great, I think.’”

Gambino also revealed that he believes in his live show so much that he’s willing to refund any unhappy fans that buy tickets to the upcoming world tour.

“This last sunset walk is for the fans. This is for you. If this isn’t the best live show you’ve seen — after the first song if you’re like, ‘I gotta go,’ you can leave and I’ll give you your money back,” he promised. “That’s how much I care about all of this. That’s not a joke. My lawyers will be like, ‘It’s a joke,’ but it’s not a joke. I will set it up so you can go.”

The New World Tour is set to kick off on Aug. 11 in Oklahoma City and make Northern American stops in Philly, Boston, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Portland and Los Angeles before wrapping up in Chicago on Oct. 3.

Bando Stone & The New World serves as the soundtrack companion to the blockbuster of the same name, which remains without a release date.
