All My Children may be returning to your screens, but this time as a movie!

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, A&E Networks confirmed to PEOPLE that Lifetime is working on an All My Children holiday movie based in Pine Valley, the fictional Philadelphia town where the original series took place.

The project is still in development and does not have any dates set for production yet, according to the network.

It is unclear whether any original All My Children cast members will return for the movie, but some have indicated any interest in returning to Pine Valley in the past.

In February 2020, a spinoff series titled Pine Valley was announced, which was set to be executive produced by show alumni Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who met working together on set of the soap opera. Ripa starred as Hayley Vaughan from 1990 to 2002, while Consuelos portrayed Mateo Santos Sr. from 1995 to 2002, both returning for multiple episodes in 2010 for the series' 40th anniversary.

After portraying an onscreen couple, the two started dating and eventually got married in 1996. They now share three children together: sons Michael and Joaquin, plus daughter Lola, and host Live with Kelly and Mark together every weekday morning.

In February 2022, Susan Lucci, who played Erica Kane, said production on the new series had been affected by COVID-19.

"There has been movement,” she teased at the time. “I wish it was a quicker movement, but yes, everything in terms of being in the right hands, as far as I know, would be in place.”

"It's really interesting, and the concept is so good," added Lucci, who starred in the original series in its entirety. "[It's] in the right hands… so I'm really hoping that this is going to actually go forward."

Although she stayed quiet on the “sporadic” details — including whether she would return — Lucci revealed what she thought her character would be like a decade later.

"With Erica, you never knew what she was going to say or do, and that made her really fun to watch," she said. "She was full of spirit, and people identified with that spirit of her very much. So certainly, I think, the same thing that women and men could identify with would still be there," she continued. "She was a woman you loved to hate, but, on the other hand, you also loved to love her and root for her."

ABC’s All My Children aired for 41 years — from January 5, 1970 until September 23, 2011. In 2013, a brief web series revival lasted less than a year.
