Chris Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman) has joined the cast of Italian drama The Kidnapping of Arabella by Carolina Cavalli, as it begins shooting in northern Italy this week.
The movie stars Benedetta Porcaroli as a young woman convinced she is the wrong version of herself, until she meets a 7-year-old girl who makes her change her mind.

It marks Cavalli’s second feature after the well-received debut Amanda, which also starred Porcaroli, this time in the role of an isolated woman who tries to reconnect with a childhood friend.
That film premiered to acclaim in Venice’s Orizzonti Extra lineup in 2022, and then screened in Toronto.
That same year, Pine was in Venice with Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling. His credits in between times include Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Poolman.
The Kidnapping of Arabella is produced by Elsinore Film and The Apartment, a Fremantle company. The producers are Antonio Celsi for Elsinore and Annamaria Morelli for The Apartment.
The production is shooting between the Italian regions of Veneto and Emilia Romagna.
Pine is represented by CAA, John Carrabino Management and Gendler, Kelly & Cunningham.
