Chrissy Teigen Concerns Fans With Met Gala Post in a Neck Brace
Chrissy Teigen attends The King's Trust 2024 Global Gala at Cipriani South Street on May 2, 2024, in New York City.
Instead of dressing to the nines ahead of the 2024 Met Gala, Chrissy Teigen donned a neck brace.
On Monday, May 6, the model and cookbook author took to her Instagram Story with a pair of concerning photos showing her in a white cervical collar. "@the Met!" she joked in one photo while confessing in another, "I tried to do a headstand."
Teigen's picture update clearly concerned fans, as she soon returned with a pair of video clarifications.
"Oh my god, I'm fine. Everybody is reaching out. I'm OK," she said to the camera. "It's a CVS neck band. And I just can't rotate my neck because I tried to do a headstand, and it didn't go well. That's all. There's no story, I promise."

Teigen later added, "This is not why I'm not at the Met. I was never going to the Met this year. Please. I'm so stupid for having made this a thing."
It's been a minute since she attended the fundraising event for The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2017, Teigen and her husband, John Legend, last walked the red carpet ahead of the Met Gala while sporting coordinating cream-colored looks.
Back then, Teigen and Legend only had one child. The couple now has four kids—Luna, 8, Miles, almost 6, Esti, 16 months, and Wren, 11 months—making it a tad more difficult to slip away for the red-carpet event. Either that or they just opted out/didn't get an invite.
Whatever the reason for Teigen to sit out the 2023 Met Gala, we're glad it's not because of a serious neck injury!
