Christina El Moussa calls B.S. on rumor that she's at 'war' with Joanna Gaines
There’s room for two home and lifestyle girl bosses on television, according to Christina El Moussa. The HGTV star slammed a report claiming that she’s upset over Chip and Joanna Gaines’s return to the small screen.
Earlier this month, the Gaineses announced that they are partnering with HGTV’s parent company on a lifestyle-focused media network for Magnolia. It marks their return to television less than a year after they ended their hit show Fixer Upper.
“Christina can’t help feeling outshined by Joanna, especially now that she’s getting her own network!” a source purportedly claimed to In Touch. El Moussa, who still hosts Flip or Flop with ex-husband Tarek, is slated to launch her own design spinoff series on HGTV next year. The tabloid claimed El Moussa is upset that people are now “talking about the Gaineses.”
“Joanna’s too busy doing her own thing to care about what Christina thinks,” the source continued. “She’s already ahead of the game and doesn’t view the Flip or Flip star as competition. It’s just not Joanna’s style to get involved in any kind of rivalry.”
El Moussa posted a photo of the article on Instagram, writing, “What a load of Bulls***.” She called it “disgusting,” adding, “I have always been a huge supporter of female entrepreneurs… #girlboss is my motto.”
Gaines has yet to respond to El Moussa’s post, but people looking for a catfight are going to have to go somewhere else.
