Christmas tours by The Oak Ridge Boys and Mannheim Steamroller to make Green Bay stops
ASHWAUBENON - The Oak Ridge Boys will pay a holiday visit to the Resch Center for a stop on the their American Made Christmas Farewell Tour at 7 p.m. Dec. 6.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Resch Center box office, ticketstaronline.com and 800-895-0071. Prices are $42.50, $52.50 and $69.50.
The decorated vocal group has been a part of country music for more than a half-century, racking up 34 Top 10 hits, none more famous than the 1981 smash “Elvira.” Songs like “Bobbie Sue,” “Fancy Free,” “American Made” and “Thank God for Kids” and countless honors and awards have made The Oak Ridge Boys icons of the genre.
The group recently lost one of its mainstays when tenor Joe Bonsall died July 9 of complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at age 76. Bonsall had been with the group for 51 years and had announced his retirement from touring in January.
The Oaks' current lineup features longtime members William Lee Golden (1965), Duane Allen (1966) and Richard Sterban (1972), along with its newest member, gospel and bluegrass performer Ben James.

The Oak Ridge Boys announced their American Made: Farewell Tour in October 2023 in celebration of their 50th anniversary.
“We are doing a farewell tour because we owe it to our fans to say goodbye,” Golden said in a statement at the time. “They have always been there for us through the good times and the bad. I will always be thankful to every person who came out to a show, bought a t-shirt, played our music, and overall, loved us enough to spend their hard-earned money whenever they could. This tour is for you!”
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas to play The Weidner
The Weidner has also announced a holiday show.
Mannheim Steamroller's 2024 Christmas Tour will make a stop at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay performing arts center at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17.
Tickets are $61.50, $84 and $107. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticket Star.
It is 35-plus years and counting for the popular holiday concert tour from Mannheim Steamroller founder and creator Chip Davis. Of the more than 41 million albums Mannheim Steamroller has sold, more than 31? million of them are in the holiday genre, making Davis the No. 1-selling Christmas artist of all time.
