Cincinnati native Nikki Glaser to host 2025 Golden Globes; says it might 'get me canceled'
Cincinnati-born comedian Nikki Glaser has been tapped to host the 82nd Golden Globe Awards.
The Golden Globes will occur from 8-11 p.m. on Jan. 5. The show will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. According to USA Today, Glaser will become the latest name to join the roster of comedians who have hosted the annual award show, which includes Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and Jerrod Carmichael.
In a statement, Glaser described the Golden Globes as one of her "favorite nights of television," saying it's "one of the few times that show business not only allows but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God I hope so)."
The comic added that some of her "favorite jokes of all time" have come from Golden Globes monologues that said "exactly what we all didn't know we desperately needed to hear" from previous hosts like Fey, Poehler and Gervais.
"I just hope to continue in that time-honored tradition (that might also get me canceled)," she quipped.
