Cinemax Orders Drama ‘Quarry’ to Series

Cinemax has ordered 1970s period drama “Quarry,” based on the novels of Max Allan Collins, to series.
Greg Yaitanes, showrunner of Cinemax’s “Banshee,” is shepherding the project along with Steve Golin. Creators Graham Gordy and Michael D. Fuller also exec produce. HBO has given it an eight-epsiode order.
“Quarry” revolves around a Marine who comes home from Vietnam to Memphis to find himself shunned and wrapped up in a network of killing and corruption. Logan Marshall-Green stars.
“This nuanced and dynamic show marks an exciting moment in the evolution of Cinemax programming,” said HBO Original Programming prexy Michael Lombardo.
“Quarry” is lensing in New Orleans and Tennessee. Jodi Balfour, Peter Mullan, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Damon Herriman, Jamie Hector, Edoardo Ballerini and Skipp Sudduth also star.
