‘Citadel’ Adds Matt Berry & Gabriel Leone To Season 2 Cast

EXCLUSIVE: Matt Berry (What We Do In The Shadows) and Gabriel Leone (Ferrari) have been tapped as recurring cast members in Season 2 of Prime Video’s Citadel.

They join returning stars Richard Madden and Priyanka-Chopra Jonas, along with Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville, as well as new cast addition Jack Reynor.

Citadel is the flagship of a suite of global series, all produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and tracking the story of spy agency Citadel and its powerful enemy syndicate, Manticore.

Season 2 of Citadel will begin production this year, with Joe Russo serving as director.
From Amazon MGM Studios and AGBO, Citadel is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO, with David Weil serving as showrunner and executive producer.

The first season of Citadel became Prime Video’s second most-watched new original series outside the U.S. and fourth most-watched worldwide, after 24 days of release on Prime Video.

Actor, writer and musician Berry is known for his work on FX’s What We Do in The Shadows, which has earned him a Golden Globe nomination and, most recently, an Emmy nomination for Lead Actor In A Comedy Series. Previously, Berry has won a BAFTA for his performance in Toast of London on Channel 4, which he also co-created. Berry, who is a voice cast member of Fox’s Krapopolis and the upcoming film Cat in The Hat for Warner Bros., is repped by CAA and UK’s B-Side Management.

Brazilian actor Leone rose to prominence with his role in the Brazilian Amazon Original series Dom. He was recently seen in Michael Mann’s Ferrari opposite Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz and next headlines Netflix’s biopic miniseries Senna, playing F1 legend Ayrton Senna. Leone, who also will be starring in Aly Muritiba’s feature Barba Ensopada De Sangue, is repped by CAA, Thruline, Ilana Brakarz Agenciados in Brazil, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
