Comedian Matt Rife buys home in Rhode Island. Why he decided to move to the state
Comedian Matt Rife is the latest celebrity to call Rhode Island home.
The actor said during a podcast interview Thursday that he bought a property in the Ocean State about three months ago.
In an interview with comedians H. Foley and Kevin Ryan on their "Are You Garbage?" podcast, Rife said he wasn't initially considering buying a home in Rhode Island – "it wasn't even in the top 10 states I looked at," he said – but ended up finding a property that matched what he was looking for.

Why Matt Rife chose Rhode Island as new home
In a podcast interview Thursday, comedian and actor Matt Rife said he bought a property in Rhode Island boasting 80 acres of land and two homes with four bedrooms each.
"I wanted equity in the state," he joked, in response to the host saying that 80 acres was "most of Rhode Island.
The 28-year-old said he chose the Ocean State in part due to its convenience for traveling.
Rife also said he was looking for a home in an area with a good comedy scene. He said Providence's Comedy Connection, and the area's proximity to Boston, fulfilled that requirement.
"I got all that for probably the price of a 2 bedroom with no yard in LA," Rife said.

Comedian Matt Rife said his new home in Rhode Island is currently under construction, so he's hasn't been able to spend much time there yet.
He said the home has beautiful views and that he's planning to build a sound stage on the land.
"I look forward to waking up, seeing the sun coming through my window and the view that I get on a sunny day is just stunning," Rife said.
While Rife didn't say exactly where he moved to, he did say his new home is near the Conjuring House in Burrillville. Rife has previously filmed at the Conjuring House.

Who is Matt Rife?
Matt Rife is a comedian and actor.
In 2023, his comedy special "Natural Selection" aired on Netflix. He's also appeared on MTV's Wild 'n Out.
Rife is originally from Ohio but lives primarily in Los Angeles.
