Comedian-actress Sarah Silverman, whose tackling of taboo topics with thought-provoking insight and often-controversial commentary has drawn both laughter and criticism, brings her trademark humor to Mershon Auditorium on Nov. 3.

Artist presale tickets are to be available beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Additional presales are to continue through the week in advance of the general on-sale starting at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com.

Silverman delivered her first comedy routine at 17, a performance she describes as "awful." After dropping out of New York University after a year, she began performing stand-up in Greenwich Village.

The native New Englander's career began to take off after she was fired after one season as a a writer and featured cast member on "Saturday Night Live," an experience she later parodied on "The Larry Sanders Show."

A two-time Emmy winner, Silverman's long list of accomplishments include starring in and producing "The Sarah Silverman Program," which aired on Comedy Central from 2007 to 2019, and appearing in "Maestro," the Oscar-nominated Netflix biopic in which she portrayed composer Leonard Bernstein's sister, Shirley.

Other credits include "Battle of the Sexes," "Wreck-It Ralph," "The School of Rock," "I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman" and her most recent special, "Sarah Silverman: Someone You Love," which was nominated for Grammy, Golden Globes and Critics Choice awards. The special is currently streaming on Max.

In 2010, she published an autobiography, "The Bedwetter," which she adapted into an off-Broadway musical in 2022.

Silverman continues to host a weekly podcast, as well as "Stupid Pet Tricks," a TBS comedy variety show spawned from the popular "Late Night with David Letterman" segment.
