Comic Paula Poundstone to bring jokes to Columbus in December
Hosted by CAPA, Paula Poundstone, comedian and frequent panelist on NPR's "Wait, Wait … Don't Tell Me," will deliver an evening of her dry, off-kilter observational humor at the Davidson Theatre on Dec. 21.

In addition to being the first female comedian to host the White House Correspondents' dinner, Poundstone provided live coverage of the 1992 Democratic and Republican national conventions and the inauguration of President Bill Clinton for "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
The 64-year-old comic has released five albums and authored two books. Her second book, "The Totally Unscientific Study of the Search for Human Happiness," was one of eight semifinalists for the Thurber Prize for American Humor; the audiobook was one of five finalists for the Audie Award for Audiobook of the Year.

Poundstone's numerous HBO specials include "Cats, Cops and Stuff," which earned a Cable ACE Award for Best Comedy Special. She also hosts a weekly comedy podcast, "Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone."
