Coronavirus: Joshua Jackson gives update on Jodie Turner-Smith's pregnancy during pandemic
Joshua Jackson has more than just a pandemic to prepare for.
The "Little Fires Everywhere" actor, whose wife Jodie Turner-Smith is pregnant with their first child, opened up to "Good Morning America" about what expecting a baby is like during the coronavirus crisis.
In a clip from the video interview published Wednesday, Jackson said their baby is due very soon.
"Like, tomorrow, kind of," he added.
Though more people are testing positive for COVID-19 every day, the actor says he, his wife and their baby are in good health.
"The important things are OK," he said. "Obviously, it's a bit stressful right now, and we're just trying to figure out how to be smart about being quarantined. How to interact with the medical system right now is a little bit difficult. So we're figuring it out day by day, but she's healthy, and the baby's healthy. That's the important thing."
Jackson found out about his wife's pregnancy while filming the Hulu series "Little Fires Everywhere," where he shares the screen with the show's executive producers, Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
According to Jackson, Witherspoon and Washington were great resources for parenting tips while on set.
"I asked both of them, 'Um, how do you do this thing exactly, this parenting thing?'" he said. "And both of them were incredibly helpful."
In addition to offering great advice, Witherspoon and Washington both serve as prime examples of people successfully balancing work and family, Jackson said.

"They've integrated their family life and their professional life in a way that seems very healthy," he said. "So just watching how they navigate all of that, because next time I go to work, I'm gonna be a daddy."
In a Los Angeles-based interview with Britain's The Sunday Times in January, Turner-Smith revealed she doesn't want to raise a family in the United States because "the racial dynamics over here are fraught."
"White supremacy is overt," she continued. "It’s the reason I don’t want to raise my kids here."
She added America's gun policies are another reason she's wary of raising a child in the U.S.

"I don’t want my kids to grow up doing active shooter drills at school," she said.
As for where Turner-Smith and Jackson might raise their child, the actress said she's considering one of America's neighbors.
"England has gone off the rails," she said, "so I was thinking maybe Canada."
