Coronavirus: Julianne Hough talks solo quarantine while husband Brooks Laich is in Idaho

Julianne Hough is making the most of time away from her husband during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a Tuesday Instagram Live interview with Oprah Magazine's digital director Arianna Davis, Hough described her experience quarantined away from her husband, former professional hockey player Brooks Laich. While Hough has been on her own in Los Angeles, she says Laich has been in Idaho.
"We're kind of doing our separate things right now," Hough said. "But it's really been a magical time."
The professional dancer added that the time to herself has been a much-needed break.
"Being on tour for three months and traveling and starting a business, it's a lot," she said. "So to be able to be home and stop and pause and just reflect and go inward and connect back to myself has been glorious."
According to Hough, her attitude toward people has changed as she's gotten older. Though she used to describe herself as a "super extrovert," she now finds more value in alone time.
"This is new," she said. "It's a little different. I don't feel lonely, but I definitely feel alone. I think there's a big difference from feeling lonely and just being alone."

Hough continued: "I miss people a lot. I wanna hug them and talk to them, but I'm really enjoying this time where I can really... connect to what's really important in my life and how when we get out of this who do I want to step into and the person that I want to arrive in this new world as."
The dancer also noted that she's thinking of healthcare workers during this difficult time.
"Obviously my heart is just with the frontline workers and the healthcare providers and giving them my absolute love and affection and feeling the weight of just what's happening," she said. "At the same time, I'm feeling very blessed that I have had this time to stop and pause."
