‘Wicked’, ‘Nosferatu’ & ‘Conclave’ Take Film Prizes At Costume Designers Guild Awards: Full Winners List
Nosferatu, Wicked and Conclave took the top film prizes at the 27th Costume Designers Guild Awards, which were handed out Thursday night at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles. See the full winners list below.
Nosferatu costume designer Linda Muir won for Excellence in Period Film, Wicked’s Paul Tazewell took the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film prize, and Conclave‘s Lisy Christl went home with the Contemporary Film trophy. All three also are up for Best Costume Design at the Academy Awards next month. Also vying for the Oscar are A Complete Unknown (Arianne Phillips) and CDGA nominee Gladiator II (Janty Yates and Dave Crossman).

Since the guild launched its awards show in 1999, the Academy Award for Costume Design has gone to a period film every year but three, with only Mad Max: Fury Road (2016), Black Panther (2019) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2023) bucking the trend. Poor Things continued that run last year, snagging the Oscar after winning the CDG prize.

Shōgun continued its remarkable awards run tonight with a CDGA win for Period Television going to CD Carlos Rosario. The FX series later took a second CGD prize for Costume Illustration.
Earlier, the Contemporary TV award went to Kathleen Felix-Hager for another Emmy favorite, Max comedy Hacks. The first award of the night went to Fox’s The Masked Singer for Variety, Reality-Competition, Live Television, for co-costume designers Steven Norman Lee and Luke D’Alessandro.
The Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV prize went to HBO’s Dune: Prophecy and costume designer Bojana Nikitovic.
It’s been quite a week for Beyoncé. She announced a big stadium tour and won her first Album of the Year and two other Grammys on Sunday, and tonight her Verizon commercial titled “Can’t B Broken” won the CDG Award for Short Form Design.

The late Van Smith was inducted into the CDG’s Edith Head Hall of Fame tonight by John Waters. Smith, died in 2006 at 61, worked on all of Waters’ spanning 30-plus years.
Singer-actor Janelle Monáe received CDG’s Vanguard Spotlight Award tonight, and Emilia Pérez co-star and Lioness lead Zoe Salda?a was presented with its 2025 Spotlight Award.
Salvador Perez received the Distinguished Service Award, and the ceremony ended with Jenny Beavan being honored with the Career Achievement Award.
Singer and Nobody Wants This actor Jackie Thon hosted the show, whose presenters included Kate Beckinsale, Quinta Brunson, Colman Domingo, Kathryn Hahn, Mindy Kaling, Justine Lupe, Connie Nielsen and Tazewell.
The Costume Designers Guild teamed with other IATSE locals to support those affected by last month’s devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. In support of the IATSE Emergency Relief Fund, tonight’s CDGA is adding an online auction of rare pop culture and entertainment collectibles, featuring extraordinary items provided by members of the costume community. “Our community has been through so much and we believe in using our platforms to benefit those affected,” CDG Executive Director Brigitta Romanov said recently. “We also are convinced of their ultimate strength and resilience over adversity.”
The Costume Designers Guild, IATSE Local 892, is a labor union formed for the promotion and protection of the art of costume design. Its 1,200-plus members include, costume designers, assistant costume designers and illustrators spanning film, TV, commercials, music videos and other media.
