Courtney Barnett Rocks So Very Hard on ‘Fallon’: Must-See Late Night Performance
Fresh off a Bonnaroo performance last weekend, Courtney Barnett stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform her garage rock banger “Pedestrian at Best.”
Dressed in a dope Chastity Belt shirt, Courtney really does it all here. Backed by only a drummer and bassist, she drives “Pedestrian” along with its raucous guitar line and, of course, ups the vocal ante for its humongous chorus. Do you prefer “I’ll only disappoint YEEEEW” (the ways she sings on the album) or “I’ll only disappoint YOU” like he sings here? Both are rad, really. Her bandmates also fill in some subtle background vocals once the second chorus kicks in.
