Jones III will play Chester, crime boss Sebastian Hyde’s (John Hawkes) fearsome chief enforcer. Much like a seven-foot-tall man becoming a basketball player whether he likes it or not, Chester was drafted into the criminal life for his size and fearsomeness. He’s no sadist, relying on his reputation and intelligence to get his way. He speaks softly most of the time, but the threat of sudden and deadly violence is always there.
Xavier will play Terry, another criminal, a good friend of Leo (Hunnam), a tough armed robber with a big heart, stepdad to Angie (Aliyah Camacho) and the love of Greta’s (Adria Arjona) life. Burgess plays Delron, a large man with a large appetite and large emotions. Delron is facing a trial in the next few days, and he’s at the mercy of a few powers that be in the criminal organization he works for.
As Deadline previously revealed exclusively, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden are confirmed to direct the first four episodes. Brubaker will co-showrun with crime fiction author Jordan Harper. Brubaker and Harper EP alongside Sean Phillips, Sarah Carbiener and Philipp Barnett. Legendary Television will also serve as an executive producer. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
Jones III was recently seen in Season 2 of the Paramount series Halo and will next be seen in the Joe Carnahan Lionsgate film Shadow Force, alongside Kerry Washington and in a recurring arc in Warner Bros/CW series All American: Homecoming. Previously, he starred in the DC series Black Lightning, portraying ‘Tobias Whale,’ a crime boss and the lead villain. He has also ventured into feature animation and can be seen in Sony’s, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Jones III is represented by Buchwald and Framework Entertainment.
Xavier can now be seen recurring on The CW /CBC series Wild Cards and will next be seen in the feature Killing Victoria. He recurred on Amazon/Syfy’s The Expanse, Netflix’s drama series Northern Rescue and was a series regular on Eone’s Bitten for four seasons. Film credits include WB’s Shazam, Netflix’s Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, Tubi’s The Amityville Curse directed by Eric Tessier as well as Red Hill’s feature, A Hundred Lies directed by Rouzbeh Heydari. He is repped by Lasher Group and The Characters Agency.
Burgess can currently be seen as Grayman in Apple TV’s Palm Royale and this season’s American Horror Story: Delicate. His first TV role was the BBC’s award-winning Sci-Fi behemoth, Doctor Who. His notable credits include Ryan Murphy’s multi-Emmy nominated series, Feud, Peacock’s Dr. Death, SyFy’s ‘The Magicians,’ NBC’s ‘The Good Place’ and ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, to name a few. He is repped by Artists & Representatives and Camilla Fluxman Pines.
