CW President Steps Down 2 Years After Nexstar Takeover; Entertainment Chief Brad Schwartz to Claim Top Spot
Dennis Miller, who has served as network president ever since The CW was acquired and taken over by Nexstar Media Group in October 2022, is stepping down from the top post effective Oct. 31.
Miller will serve in an advisory role through the end of the calendar year.

Brad Schwartz, The CW’s current entertainment chief, will rise to the rank of network president upon Miller’s exit from the position.
Miller as network president oversaw The CW’s strategic transformation into a destination for live sports as well as entertainment programming. This fall alone, the network has debuted WWE NXT wrestling (formerly on USA Network) and NASCAR Xfinity racing, to complement its coverage of ACC college football and basketball, PAC 12 football, and LIV Golf.
This month, The CW premiered the fourth and final season of Superman & Lois (the sole survivor of an Arrowverse slate that was once at least a half-dozen shows strong), launched game show versions of the Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble board games, and debuted the Sophie Turner starrer Joan, Sullivan’s Crossing Season 2 and the docuseries The Wranglers.
Beyond Superman & Lois, The CW’s scripted slate includes All American (Season 7 is in the works), The Chosen (as the acquired religious series’ broadcast home), Wild Cards (Season 2 arrives in 2025), and the upcoming series Good Cop/Bad Cop and Sherlock & Daughter.
