Cynthia Daniel Hauser is reminiscing about the "really special" journey toward helping make twin sister Brittany Daniel a mom.

The Sweet Valley High alumnae, 48, made a joint appearance at 90s Con Florida in Daytona Beach over the weekend, speaking at a panel alongside fellow "Fabulous Ladies of the '90s" Carmen Electra and Juliette Lewis.

Touching on the experience of donating eggs to Brittany — which eventually led to her welcoming daughter Hope Rose, who turns 3 next month, via surrogate — Cynthia joked, "It's so funny — I have three kids, and my daughter looks identical to my husband."

"I gave you my eggs and you get the girl who looks like us!" she teased her sister.

As Brittany recalled of her challenging journey toward motherhood, "I went through cancer in my mid-30s then I tried to do IVF to retrieve some eggs, and I wasn’t able to."

Once her doctor learned she had an identical twin sister, though, it was a game-changer. "He was like 'Let’s bring her in,' " Brittany said. "She was extremely fertile [and] so kind to give me her eggs."

"My daughter, I named Hope, and for obvious reasons. She’s our daughter, really," the Dawson's Creek alumna told the crowd.

After going through a painful and life-threatening battle with stage IV non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2012, Brittany told PEOPLE that her baby news "has been a long time coming" and she and husband Adam Touni were "very much looking forward" to holding their baby in their arms.

"We can't wait for the ability to show our first child the world," she said in August 2021.

Brittany and Cynthia — who shares her three children Ryland, 19, Colt, 16, and Steely Rose, 11, with actor-husband Cole Hauser — opened up in January 2022 about the process in a conversation for the PEOPLE Every Day podcast.

Initially, Cynthia wasn't sure if it would even be possible to donate her eggs, as the sisters were in their late 30s at the time, but she was willing do whatever it took to help make Brittany's dream come true.

"It just kind of stopped me in my tracks, because I was like, this is why my sister and I were brought together," said the photographer and former actress.

"Not only just to support each other and love on each other ... I know she would've done the same thing for me," Cynthia added.
